APEC BUSINESS TRAVEL CARD


INTRODUCTION

APEC is an organization established in 1989 to establish greater economic cooperation in the Asia Pacific region. This organization came into force on March 1, 1999.

The APEC Business Travel Card is an initiative of the APEC Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation in an effort to help businessmen who frequently deal with APEC countries.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS


MALAYSIAN



ADMINISTRATIVE MEMBER


Administrative members and professionals, dignitaries, Government Officials or equivalent who deal with APEC countries must be certified by the Ministry or Department concerned.




BUSINESSMAN


Businessmen and investors who regularly conduct trade and investment activities with APEC countries and are certified by designated regulatory agencies only.







UNQUALIFIED APPLICANTS

  • APPLICANT HAS BEEN BLACKLISTED - The Royal Malaysia Police and Malaysian Immigration Department have placed the organization or applicant on a "blacklist."

  • WORKING ON HOLIDAY - People who want to get involved in work or work while on vacation

  • ENTERPRISE COMPANY - Enterprise status company

  • APPLICANT'S WIFE AND CHILDREN - Applicants from their own wives and children (dependents)

  • EXIT PASSIVELY - Move out of the passive country

  • UNQUALIFIED MEMBER Sportsmen, Journalists, Entertainers, Musicians and others alike


CHECKLIST


APPLICANT (RESIDING IN MALAYSIA)


Applicant (Staying in Malaysia)


  1. APEC application form.

  2. Copy of Malaysian passport (passport validity period exceeds 3 years).

  3. Photocopy of identity card.

  4. 1 -piece passport size photo (blue background).

  5. Letter of support from the relevant Regulatory Agency.

  6. Letter of authority for a representative from the company if the applicant is unable to attend.

  7. Letter of application from the company with confirmation of the applicant;

  • Name, date of birth, identity card number and passport.​

  • Positions in the company.

  • Justification of APEC Business Travel Card application.

  • Applicant’s job description.

Applicant (Residing Outside Malaysia)


  1. APEC application form.

  2. Copy of Malaysian passport (passport validity period exceeds 3 years).

  3. Photocopy of identity card.

  4. 1 -piece passport size photo (blue background).

  5. Letter of support from the relevant Regulatory Agency.

  6. Copy of Work Permit or Permanent Resident Card.

  7. Letter of authority for a representative from the company if the applicant is unable to attend.

  8. Letter of application from the company with confirmation of the applicant;

  • Name, date of birth, identity card number and passport.​
  • Positions in the company.

  • Justification of APEC Business Travel Card application.

  • Applicant’s job description.
